update on our weekend

Day 30

Wow what a weekend! Football went well, Jay played great and got an award for never giving up!!Well done matie, proud of you!! Dan's team won again and are now sitting in 4th spot on the ladder. Go Cobbies!!!
We got home, loaded the truck and cars then drove up the sunshine coast to the new house and spent the next 6 hours unpacking and trying to find homes for things. John put the antenna up with Josh helping out by crawling around inside the roof. Poor guy ended up all itchy and stinging from the insulation, A shower fixed that though.
We were asked to stay the night, but chose instead to drive home as Josh had football at 9.30 the next day. It was after 10 when we got home and wee were exhausted so we got the kids alll into bed and then collapsed ourselves.
Sunday
Up and our again early for another game of football. Josh's team just cant get it together at all this year, another loss...
Home and helped load the truck again, but this time didnt go with them, just had a lazy afternoon doing

This morning i woke to a package sitting at the front door. It was my rak from Deb, that I won fro her blog not so long ago. Look at it all isnt it fantastic!!! Thank you so much. I even used some of it today in my card below!


This weeks prompt on Emilys card challenge, is 'Count your blessings. I think that alot of cards are going to have the same things this week, but family, friends etc are things that are important in our lives and I know for one am grateful to have them in my life.


Wow what a huge post!
Tomorrow i am going to try and scrap some layouts, have fallen behind with challenges nad seems like I havent scrapped in ages. Will try and remember how lol

Day 27

I have been a bad daily blogger. I am really struggling at the moment to blog daily, life has got busy and with our new pact to spend more family time together I am not sure that I will always manage a daily post, hopefully every few days.

What else has been happening....
I am co-hosting a baby shower for my friend Deb tonight. I made up these little bootie party favours for everyone. First time ive made anything like this and I love them, they are so cute! I want to make some more lol





Some of you may remember a few months ago I won a free beach photo shoot from Ali Stafford's blog. This shoot was due to take place last weekend, but due to a lack of communication and then issues with dates and times it will now not take place.
We are a little disappointed as was so looking forward to having some awesome photos of the boys and our family.
Not to worry though because the gorgeous and talented Donna is going to do a shoot for me when it gets a little warmer. Love ya girl!

We have a busy weekend ahead, starting in an hour, have to help my girl Lynnie move into her new house today. Then 2 games of football tomorrow, with more moving, then a karaoke night, another game of football Sunday and possibly more moving.

Want to send out lots of cyber hugs and prayers to Tam and Scott and their family. There gorgeous little boy Harrison is in hospital at the moment. Hope that things are looking up guys and that he will recover quickly. Loves and hugs aplenty.

The last few days

Day 23

I have been a slacko, havent updated since Friday, just been ultra busy all of a sudden and hubby and I have been spending a bit of quality time together after the kids have gone to bed instead of sitting on computers.
Thanks girls for your concern over the futsal injury, I am all recovered now.
My card last week for Deck of me was to finish my scarf (it is winter here in Aus, so im not getting a early start), well I did Saturday night! Wore it to football Sunday and it was great. Kept me nice and warm!
I forgot to get hubby to take a pic of me wearing it, but this is it.


The boys had some great games at the weekend, Jays team narrowly lost, but as under 10's dont score it didnt really matter. Dan's team beat one of the top teams at their own ground which was fantastic and will help move them up the ladder. Josh's team had a great game and won their 2nd game of the season! This game Sunday was a bit nerve racking for me, as Josh's team were down a few players they got Dan to fill in. To my delight lol he spent alot of time on the bench. He did however play very well when he got time on the ground. Proud of him for not being scared to get out there and play with guys so much bigger than him!

This week the art jounral prompt at KSK is Life - figuratively/metamorphic.
To me the caterpillar turning into a butterfly captures our life perfectly. We start of life having to work our way upwards, we often get wrapped up in our own little world before we eventually find the beauty within ourselves that we are happy with.

Weekend looms

Day 20

Last night we played futsal (indoor soccer) as we do every Thursday night, we played this new team, they play under the name of a local christian school. Man it was the worst game we have played in 4 years. The guys on the team were drunk and rough and nasty, 4 of our team got injured, myself included. The organiser spoke to them and told them their behaviour was not acceptable, I decided today that wasnt good enough and rang the school. The deputy principal was appalled and had no idea a team was even using the schools name. He assured me he would look into it and take action.
My own injury, was an elbow to the chest, which last night didnt seem all that bad, but today, left me really short of breath and in pain. So instead of watching Josh take part in school athletics, I took pain killers and slept most of the day.

In other news, Here are a couple of layouts i got done yesterday and this afternoon.

I can tell its almost the end of football season, I am so over driving all over the countryside to get to games. Tomorrow while DH drives in one direction with Jay, I will be going almost double the distance the other way for Dan's game. Thank god Josh now plays on Sunday.

Day 18

The new challenge at Scrap your Scraps came out yesterday. Liz asked us to cut out the subject of the photo and use it anyway we liked. Had lots of fun making this totally silly layout, but the boys loved it and so do I.


I got bored at home today so I went shopping lol I picked up a new kettle and these awesome shoes!!


Just a short one tonight its so cold here in this room, back to the warmth.

Goal of the week

Day 17

I had a productive day, getting lots of little things around my house done as well as in my scrap room. Got a couple of projects finished and another couple ready to go.

Emily is back on board this week with a fabulous prompt - Goal of the week!
I have lots I want to get done, but decided to do my card on my scarf that im knitting. I got so far and then just stopped and I really love the wool and need to get it finished before winter is over.


This one is a fun layout for the Get real challenge over at Cyberscraps. Scrap your quirks. I am very fussy when it comes to hanging washing on my clothes line. Everything has to be hung up just the right way and in a certain order lol

Day 16

One of the reasons I started doing an art journal was to step out of my comfort zone, to experience and explore different aspects of the 'scrapbooking world'. Donna's prompt this fortnight for the art journal challenge at KSK did just that. I have never done collage before, and when asked to do a collage page on why we journal I was a little anxious. After much procrastinating I got my page done and had fun doing it!


I have some really awesome friends, ones I have met and have known for years and others that I have only known a short time and then there are the ones I have only 'met' online. Each of them in their own special way bring joy to my life!
This beauty was knitted for me by my girl Lynnie, it is Mauve!! and so soft and fluffy and great for keeping my warm on those cold football mornings! Thanks girl your a gem :)


Now here a few weeks ago I won a little competition over at Artypants. Some (ok all) of those who know me will most likely say that i was a certainty lol. It was a competition to see who could 'talk' (have the most posts) the most! Well I won lol

Another part of the prize was a layout made for me by Julie. Honestly I was a little anxious about this part I have never had a layout made for me before and was nervous about how it would turn out, would i like it or not.
I loved it!

Tomorrow I pan on scrapping the whole day, I have got so behind with challenges and I need to get caught up.

Fun stuff

Day 15

Today was probably the best Sunday we have had in a long time. John and Josh went to football this morning, Donna came over with her gorgeous kids and brought lunch. The kids had a great time playing together both inside and out. Jai is such a character he makes me laugh!
The guys got home from footy and not long after Lynnie and Kev arrived to drop of the car, had coffee and a great chat.
John and Josh decided to clean the fish tank out, we dont have many fish in the tank, just yabbies, the boys found some tiny little baby ones and were holding them it was so cute!

Might not sound like an exciting day, but it was nice and relaxed and spent in good company.

Day 14

Fairly easy day today with just the one game of football, another one tomorrow. Spent the afternoon doing as little as possible, had no inclination to do anything creative and still havent tonight.

Day 13

Today I had planned on getting all my housework done early then going out, had no where in mnid, just out, shopping of some sort lol. The home to do some serious scrapping before he kids got home.
All that fell to the wayside though when Donna rang to say she was comming over! We didnt do anything exciting, we sat and chatted and laughed for hours and It was great! She also brought me some goodies to!! I havent chatted with her like that for so long because we have both had so much other stuff going on.
So thank you Donna for a wonderful day :)

I did get some scrapping done tonight, will scan tomorrow and share, still got glue drying at the moment.

Have to send out a HUGE big birthday cuddle to my gorgeous girl Chelsea! My little niece turned 5 yesterday. She rang me this afternoon to tell me that 'Princess Barbie Genevieve' was 'my favourite of them all' lol have to love her!!

Football tomorrow, holidays are over so we are back into full swing again, there goes the weekends lol

Day 11

The auditions at the casting agency for Jay went well, apparently the kids were all great! The deal is that they pick 'teams' not individuals for their ad, and they will let the club know when they have made their decision. So its the waiting game now...

Got some scrapping done today, both of the for challenges at KSK.




I am so over this cold weather, it needs to be warm already, bring on summer.

Im a tad slack as a friend, sorry girls. Tam and Donna both tagged me...

Junk Mail

Day 10

How much Junk ail do we get put in our letterboxes every week.. If your like me most of it just goes in the bin. Do you ever stop to think about the uses it might have in your art journals or other creative projects. I know I didnt. Until this week...
Deck of Me had another guest do the prompt this week, while Emily gets her scrapping room unpacked.

Whenever a toy catalogue shows up at our place it is quickly snatched up by the boys, then read from cover to cover until it resembles paper shreds lol so this card is for them.


Today the kids went back to school, my first whole day to myself in 2 weeks, so what did I do? I went shopping!! Nothing exciting just some organisational things for my room. While waiting at a register to be served I noticed this little sticky notes pad shaped like a pocket (see below), picked it up and saw it was for jeans for genes. How cute is it and wont it make a great journaling block for those boy layouts! A bargain at $2 and helping out a great charity!


Had some really exciting news tonight about one of my boys. Jayden's football coach rang to ask if he would be available to go with the rest of the team to a casting agency to try out for a commercial!! How cool is that!
They will all get 'looked at' tomorrow afternoon for a chance to be in the next MBF ad! I think im more excited for him than he is though lol and probably a good thing for him and casting agency I wont be there :( I have committments with the other boys that I couldnt rearrange, my mate Jason is going to take him for me though!
So keep your fingers crossed that they like him!!

Day 9

The end of school holidays that is...
I am so looking forward to 8.30am tomorrow! Now I love my boys and will miss the sleep ins, but I am so looking forward to some 'ME' time!!

The postie left me a package this morning, filled with these awesome goodies! They come from Alison, for completing a series of challenges at KSK awhile back. I am a spoilt girly and cant wait to start playing with them all!!

Didnt really feel very creative today, even after getting such a great bunch of goodies, pottered about doing bits of nothing, chatted with Donna an Lynnie, love those girls!
Then finally around 4ish - just as I need to get organised for football training lol - this came to me. The receipts and bar codes from my recent shopping trip, a page for my everyday life journal.


About to go make sure everything is ready for school tomorrow then bed.

Day 8

Today's football match was fantastic, 16's with a few 14's (Josh included) and even Dan (12's) played a training game, even Jay got in on it and ran water for them. I think the funniest part of the day was watching the 'adults' out there having more fun than the kids!

8+ hours of handstitching and my fingers were so sore, but the finished layout was worth it! This is for the July stitching challenge at Creative Collective.


Only one more day to brave out and the kids are back at school!!! I have loved the not having to get up early of a morning, but man it has seemed like a very long two weeks. I think the kids are as eager to get back as I am to get them there lol

Day 7


I am a slacker! I forgot to post yesterday, no excuse just plain forgot....
Dan had a mate stay over last night and here all day today, so 4 bored boys in my house lol, bring on Tuesday!! (school starts back again)

I did get out for a few hours by myself - first time in 2 weeks - went shopping! Picked up some awesome scrap goodies!

This is something I found a couple of weeks ago in a thrift shop. Apparently its used when playing some sort of card game. I loved it and thought immediately of the altering possibilities!


Josh, my oldest and the hardest to work out at the moment. This layout is for the ArtyPants technique challenge.
