Dance like no one is watching!

Wow, I didnt realise it had been so long since I had posted, almost 2 months! I dont think I have ever gone that long with no posts before.
The end of footy season just gets crazy around here and with us being in finals this year was even more so-more on that later though.
I have so many things I need(want) to post about, so there should be a big run of regular posts over the next few weeks.

I have gotten right back into creating again too, I even scrapped a few pages!! My art journal is continuing to grow and its the one thing I have been constant with (even though I never get them photographed and uploaded intime to enter the challenge haha).

Bird is the Word  is my go to place for inspiration for my art journal. The word challenges they put up are perfect!
Dance is the current word and I had only recently cut out a picture from a magazine that was perfect for this prompt!

I got out my paints and stamps, some more magazine cutouts and washi tape and started creating. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

After a little break Bird is the Word is back up and running with monthly prompts again, Yay! The new word is "Moment".
I gathered together supplies and made quite a mess (thats half the fun) making this one, but am super happy with how it turned out!

Whisper

I got messy again with my first art journal page for the year! Following along with the prompts at Bird is the word is filling my journal up with some awesome colourful pages.
This time the word is "Whisper" found a perfect picture in an old magazine and added some paints and mists until I was happy with how it looked.
Finished it of with some tiny alpha stickers and a thrifted set of stamps.

Bird is the Word - Spring

My favourite time of year is Spring, the cold is disappearing but it hasnt gotten too hot yet. New life and sounds and colours are everywhere.
My art journal is quickly filling with lots of messy colourful pages courtesy of Bird is the word challenge prompts.
I have another one to share with you today, this time the word as you may of already guessed is SPRING...
Used some pretty napkins on my page this time around!



























I have so many blog posts that I need to do to catch up with everything before the christmas season drops in on us, may even have to do a couple a day. I want to have everything shared before the end of the year if I can so that next year can start of fresh and organised!

Go where the music takes you

As I mentioned in this post, I would be back to share my next art journal page for Bird is the Word. This time the word was MUSIC.
This one took a little longer to get done as I had to wait for all the layers of paint to dry.


































I grabbed a kit at the weekend and sat down to scrap will share as soon as I get some photos. I also have some thrift store finds to share this week.

BITW - Touch

A little behind in posting my Bird is the Word art journal pages,this is from back at the end of September, the word "touch".
Circles seem to be turning up in alot of my work lately not entirely sure why, lots of watercolour paints and stencils used also.

Recording the Stories

I love writing, not a novel (although maybe one day) or anything to intense. I have always kept a journal of somesort where I record all the daily bits and pieces going on, thoughts and ideas and dreams. This has spilled over into my art journalling and scrapbooking.
The next challenge at Bird is the word was perfect, create a page using the word "STORY" or "STORIES".
I immediately knew what I wanted to do, so grabbing my paints and pens and a few bits and pieces I created this art journal page all about my love or writing and recording the stories.

Let there be Peace!

The next page in my Bird is the Word art journal. This time the challenge word was PEACE. I thought a bit about this once, there were lots of ways I could of gone. The boys that day were having a decidedly off day so I thought I would do a bit of a fun page.
Using the peace symbol and a mock up of me upside down pulling my hair out surrounded by the boys lol

Bird is the Word

Been playing in my art journal again, another page for the Bird is the Word challenge. The word this time around is SHADOW. I had to think about this one for awhile it sort of stumped me as to which way I wanted to go. As it happens life worked it out for me, I found this quote browsing around the web and it fitted with what was happening that week.

Head on over to the blog and check out the challenges, there are a couple running at the moment and you dont have to do an art journal you can scrap a layout or make a card as long as it has the word somewhere on it.
The DT as usual have given some beautiful inspiration and there are awesome pirzes up for grabs!!

Reach

Im a little behind in my blog post, I have a few crafty things still to share as well as family updates still to record so I might have to do a couple of blog posts a day to catch up.
First up is the next page in my art journal courtesy of the Bird is the Word challenge prompts. The challenge posted back on the 16th of July was REACH.
I had alot of fun creating this page using some washi tape, various stamps and lots of paint and ink.

Beyond

 I have been playing in my art journal again, another prompt from Bird is the Word. Really enjoying their challenges and filling my journal up with lots of  different quotes and lots of colour.
 Beyond was the latest word and the quote I used is from Albert Einstein.

Art Colours Life

The new challenge word over at Bird is the Word went up last Sunday. The word is Colour/s,  so I pulled out my art journal and paints and got messy. I wasnt really sure where this was going but new that it would have lots of paint and colours. Pretty happy with how it turned out.


















I have quite a few more crafty things to share as well as some more family updates, I may even have to do two posts in one day!! OMG that never happens haha we will see how things pan out.

Change

The new challenge word over at Bird is the Word has been announced! As usual there are some inspiring creations on the blog to get you motivated.
I have created another page for my art journal, this time Ive gone a little personal with the theme instead of generic.
Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes.

















A few years back I tore my achilles tendon and had to stop playing sport. Once my physio finished and I was deemed ready to tackle things on my own, I  got a little slack and never really kept up with it. Therefore I havent gotten back into playing sport and with my diet never really being anything I worried about (I just ate what I wanted) I gained weight...
A few of my friends have said pfft where...ok so its not a massive weight gain but its enough for me to feel uncomfortable with how I look, and worry that it will just continue to build if I dont do something about it.
Here is where the art journal quote comes into it, ive made many comments to my family and close friends about how I need to start doing something to lose the weight, but do I do anything ? No!
So if I dont Change my habits and start doing something then Nothing is going to Change!

Time to put my words into action!

Smile

Time for another prompt from Bird is the Word, this week the word is SMILE!
Once again I got my art journal out, grabbed some paints and magazines. I had an image of what I wanted the page to look like, it didnt evolve into that but I still love and enjoyed the finished page.
A Smile cost nothing but gives much!

Bird is the Word

Bird is the word challenge blog have now got a new look! Its very cool you should go have a look, whilst your there have a look at their challenges they run a few every month just by giving you  a word to spark your creativeness. You can create anything you wish as long as you use the word somehow.

I have been creating art journal pages using the words and this is my 2nd one using Look/See, as soon as I saw this challenge I knew that I wanted to draw an eye and the page just came together from that.


















There is still 13 days left to get your entries in for the Look/See challenge, they also have the next challenge posted using the word Smile.
A great word to use in a layout, card or art journal page or even on a canvas!

I decided to have a go at a new challenge blog this month. Bird is the Word is a fab site that challenge you with a different word every month that can be used in either the title or journalling.
Right into my art journalling at the moment so decided to start one for the Bird is the Word prompts.
I found this picture in a magazine and I was drawn to it straight away, the word we had to use was "Future" and here is my finished art journal page.
