September Sort it - COMPLETED

Back at the end of August the lovely Tamar set herself and anyone who wanted to join in a challenge to spend the month of September sorting out the things in our lives/homes we had been putting of doing for ages.
Playing along with the challenge got me well and truly into clean/purge/sort mode. While completing the things from the list I made back at the beginning of the month I found many other things that needed some sorting out as well. Some of those things I got done during September and some are on another list to be done during October or at least before christmas.

So my list now looks like this....

The only thing that I didnt get complete was the garage sale. We had all good intentions of having one, our weekends just didnt allow us to do this during September, but we have got one planned very soon.

Thank you Tamar for setting us this challenge, you got me motivated to start getting my home looking the way it should.

September Sort it - Week 3 update

 

I meant to come in yesterday and update, but time got away from me so today it is. We are at day 21 and I have only gotten 14 items marked of my list (see originial list here), I was hoping to be alot further along than this, but oh well I will just have to play catch up.

To keep me honest a little photo collage of some that I have managed to get done.
All my wrapping paper got sorted and now lives in two homes, a container next to my cupboard for all the rolls of paper (and contact) and the smaller papers live in a clear plastic crate - I will probably add dividers to this at a later date.
My fabric stash, now I dont sew so I dont have a huge amount, felts, mesh and assorted bits for scrapping and craft items. They were all just thrown in a big crate, but now they are all neat and seperated. Felts embroidery mesh in one container, mesh and leather etc all in another, I have a little straw bag with all my scraps and another container with all my larger pieces of fabric. This is all in a large plastic crate, so much easier to see now too.
I also got  my plastic bags sorted, I just crocheted a new home for them.I also managed to get all my layouts put away into albums, this took forever lol must try and stay on top of it.
My blog reader feeds, bookmarks and computer files all got a do over and are now in much better shape.

Almost a week into September already so I thought a progress report  might be apt, help keep me motivated and honest to actually finish the list. Its day 6 and Ive only mamanged 5 from the lists, but hope to get a couple done per day during the week and leave weekends free for family time.

September Sort It

 

 As I mentioned in this post I am joining along with Tamar during September for a long overdure sort out of this place.
I decided rather than have my list typed up on my blog and only visible if I visted my blog that I wanted something more visual, so I wrote mine up in my notebook that sits on my desk. I can carry it around with me upstairs or just leave it sit on my desk.
I also prettied it up a bit, couldnt help myself lol

For recording purposes and keeping me honest heres the list typewritten, I will come back to this post and check of when ive completed each task.

So I have a few more days then I will be getting stuck into completing things of this list and hopefully by September 30 I will have completed the list!!

September Sort it

We all have those areas in our home that so badly need organising or sorting out right ? We have all good intentions about getting to them but something else always comes along and has us saying, ahh will do that tomorrow. I know that even though we only moved in to this home last November, there are certain areas that just havent been seen to and sorted, left till I had more time.

So now is the time, during the month of September I am joining along with Tamar on her September Sort it mission.
Here is what she has to say.....

It's the perfect time of year - not too hot not too cold - to get it sorted.

I'm writing a list of 30 must do things.

Some take 5 minutes some will take longer.

By the end of September they will all be done and we will zoom into the next few months more sorted. I love the thought of it.

I will be writing my list up this weekend, will try and get it posted if not over the weekend then early next week. I may even do some before and after shots!
