2012 - What a year

This year as I sit and type out my year in review post unlike other years I dont feel like this year has flown by. The year has been pretty action packed with alot going on in all our lives. There were some sad things that were hard to get through and there were alot of great things that made us all happy and proud.
Creative wise I had a productive year, branching out with a few different things this year, trying my hand at more mixed media and painting and taking my crochet to a new level.
Football season got under way with  all the boys involved in some way. Jayden did the junior umpirinig course and spent the year umpiring the Puma junior teams as well as helping out with our senior group anyway they needed him. Dan started with Under 18's as well as filling in for quite a few reserve games and even a couple of senior games, he ended the year with the Senior clubman award. Josh helped out with runner and water duties until his come back part way into the season. His knee held up well and he had a pretty good season.
Josh started playing with basketball team which really helped with his jumping. John once again helped out with visiting Melbourne teams with AFL games at both the Gabba and Metricon as well as taking part in the Pan Pacific Masters Games again, this year a few different sports to last year and even getting to meet a few "celebrities". Dan had a great year with school sport making it to regionals for both cross country as well as Athletics and various other school sports earning him the coveted Senior school sports award.
Dan competed in his first marathon, running in the Bridge to Brisbane and getting a pretty good time for his first effort.

Family wise was a little up and down, Josh had his first car accident and whilst we were so grateful he didnt get hurt his car wasnt so lucky. Dan switched jobs from the deli at Coles to nightfill and got alot more hours, making him alot happier with a bigger paycheck! Dan also had his first trip to hospital with a suspected spleen injury courtesy of football. Ended up being ok and after a couple of precautionary days in hospital and a couple of weeks rest he was back into it.
We sadly mourned the death of one of Josh's mates as well as an Aunty and a couple of close family friends.
On a brighter note we welcomed the beautiful Ashleigh into our family, her and Josh are a gogeous couple.

Once the footy season finished and we had our weekends back and time to do things we hung out alot in the yard the boys making good use of the pool with some really warm days. A few family trips out and about with lots of photo taking especially with Johns new lens he got for his camera.
Josh and I flew to Tassie to help dad celebrate his 75th Birthday and had a rushed few days catching up with everyone.
Daniel graduated from school with a flurry of awards nights, formals and valedictorian ceremony.
Christmas was celebrated at home again with the family and we plan on doing the same for tonight.
Seeing in the new year at home with family and a few close friends.

I hope that your year was memorable and that 2013 is just as memorable.
So Happy New Year, have a safe and fabulous night!

Celebrating

Once again its been absolute ages since I updated, this year I am hoping to be a little more diligent with my blog and keeping it updated regulary, if only for my own records, not sure anyone even reads it anymore lol.

Over the next few days im going to catch up with everything thats been going on since I last posted back at the beginnning of December.

This year we were heading down to Tassie for christmas so we decided to have a bit of a get together with family and friends before we left. As it turned out the only day that we were able to hold a bbq was my birthday, so it became a joint celebration.
We headed of to Alexander Clark Park with,
Christine, Rhys and Tiarna

Jim and Vicki and the girls

The obligatory we are at a park cricket match

Lets try and get a bbq going with wood thats been rained on for the last few days, I think nearly everyone had a go lol

It did drizzle a little but it was still nice and warm and so relaxing.

Fun had by the kiddies (both big and small) on all the play equipment.

A fantastic day was had by everyone.

Back tomorrow with photos and story of our trip to Tassie.

Cheers Lis :)

Catch up!

I had the best week, got to spend it with Sandra! Havent seen her in 6 years so it was awesome to spend time together and catch up. We didnt do all that much other than just chat lots lol but we did manage to go see a few things.

Animal farm at the now non existant strawberry farm at Pimpama

Koala sanctuary at Daisy Hill.

The only Koala that we saw all day, I think the outside ones were hibernating or something.

Proof I did go lol

How cute is this mama wallaby and her little bub, she was such a poser to.

After a week of no scrapping I have spent the last day and a half locked inside my scrap room lol.
This one was one i did a couple of weeks ago but wasnt able to show. It is for the Monday Mojo challenge at Mystical, It was me who had to come up with the technique - masking tape backgrounds.

We dare you challenge at Mystical - Regrets.

Potion commotion challenge at Mystical.

OLW - today

Paper Adventure - 3 words that describe you, my kids chose a word each that they thought described me.

Back to more creating...

Prayers

This beautiful little girls got rushed to hospital yesterday and is still in ICU. OUr thoughts and prayers go out to her and her mum and dad. We pray that she recovers quickly.

I had quite a bit planned for this weekend, but now with Katelyn in hospital im am looking after her brother and sisters for Jason and Debbie so they can be with their little girl. Might take them up to the park later.

Got this layout done earlier in the week for the challenge at Everyday Garbage. This time around we had to use 'tickets'.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cheers

Week 40

Day 9

This week on Deck of me the prompt is
' Not anymore'
what is not anymore in your life, how are you not anymore, how is it not anymore?

For me it is glasses, I am so glad that someone out there invented contact lenses they make my life so much easier.
As a teenager, and well into my 20's I wore glasses and not some of the cute trendy styles you can get now. These huge round bright blue glasses. Apart from the typical name calling from school kids they continually got broken when I played sport. I love my contact lenses!

This is the gorgeous little girl that I now look after 3 days a week. She was such a good girl for me yesterday and as you can see there were plenty of giggles and smiles!

A update on josh and his interview....what happened was on the Saturday he went down to mini golf to ask If they had any jobs, he was told to come back on the Sunday at 3pm. He did that as I mentioned and spoke to the manager (poor kid was petrified). They dont have any jobs available at the moment, but they kept his resume and told him to keep coming down to check.
He was so disappointed...the first of many rejections to come my big boy!

Day 17

We had the best weekend packed full of fun and family and friends.
Starting Friday night with friends popping over whilst the kids were at the school disco, its not often we get to see Jason and Debbie outside of football, so was nice to sit and chat for awhile.

Saturday morning Josh and John headed of to work for a few hours. In the afternoon we packed up and headed to the park for Daniel's party. Lots of kids, noise food and fun to be had. The iron man race for the flags was a big hit as was tackle footy.

Dan pretending to blow out the candles on his cake (it was too windy for them to stay lit).

Tackle footy, park style.

A few photos taken of the family at the park.

Josh - a rare one

Dan - love his profile

Jay - that thing is hard to stay on

Love this one of Jay and Jess playing together

A couple of my gorgeous niece

Couldnt resist this one of Jess and her daddy taking a walk.

We packed up and waited till the last parent came to collect their child, before heading home to unpack.
Josh had a mate stay over and we also babysat Deb and Jasons 4, so we had 8 kids aged from 4wks old to 14 to feed and watch for 3 hours..
It went really well, the baby was so good, she slept for most of the time and the other s all get on really well.

Sunday and a morning of general cleaning up around the house with the whole family pitching in to help out. Then I headed of to Cassies's baby shower. Some great girly time lots of food (chocolate covered strawberries!!!) the games were great, I won 2!
This is Cassie opening up her gifts, (not such a good pic, lighting wasnt great and lots of movement) she got so many gorgeous things.
Cant wait o see little Jayce very soon Cassie, im betting you cant either.

The boys cooked dinner for me so I got to sit and be waited on!

Today was spent running around finishing of the shopping needed for the footy presentation night. Do you know how hard it is to find a thank you card that doesnt have flowers on it!!
Tonight we have the last committee meeting with a bit of a party afterwards. Kind of a thank you to those that helped out over the season.

Have a great night

Chers

Friday friendly

Day 3

Isnt it just the nicest feeling to have great friends, even better when one of those friends shares your passion for scrapping!!
Donna and I spent the morning together shopping!! 2 different scrap stores - I was good and didnt spend all that much (dont need to lately with the challenge wins and raks ive had).
I t was really nice just to spend time with her and chat (did we ever lol).

We had planed on a full day of it, till it was cut short with a phone call from the high school, Josh was really sick and I had to get him. Poor guy got home and went to bed.
John suggested tonight that him and Jayden move into a hotel for a while lol. They are the only two in the house not sick. Yep I too have come down with it as well, a given really for mums to get sick when there kids do.

Not really alot else to say tonight, so will leave it at that.

Cheers

Fun stuff

Day 15

Today was probably the best Sunday we have had in a long time. John and Josh went to football this morning, Donna came over with her gorgeous kids and brought lunch. The kids had a great time playing together both inside and out. Jai is such a character he makes me laugh!
The guys got home from footy and not long after Lynnie and Kev arrived to drop of the car, had coffee and a great chat.
John and Josh decided to clean the fish tank out, we dont have many fish in the tank, just yabbies, the boys found some tiny little baby ones and were holding them it was so cute!

Might not sound like an exciting day, but it was nice and relaxed and spent in good company.
Here are a few photos from the weekend.
Josh looking way more grown up than I want him to be..

Dan, who loves to be in front of the camera..

Jay, who learnt taht you cant ride a scooter when you have roller blades on..

Paige, had the most beautiful brown eyes i have ever seen..

Teigha, gorgeous girl who reminds me of me...

Jai, so full of character always entertaining..

Trying to get this photo proved harder than I thought it would...

Hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend like I did.

Cheers
