My scrap space

I got asked about my scrap space and how I store everything in such a little space, so I thought I would take some photos and share.

This first photo is my scrap desk and computer desk, the door right there on the left and on the other side of my chair is my DH's computer area, so I work in a pretty tight space.

This is on the other side of the door, a set of cupboards I use for stacking all sorts.

My computer desk has things all around it as well, my crate of felt on top, and underneath are all my papers in WIP folders my cardstock to the right under the printer in a slotted box my boys made me. The folders under my desk hold templates and stickers and alphas and rubons.

The bottom of my white shelves holds albums, flowers and chipboard(not alphas) in plastic crates, and my paints in a wooden box my son made.

The top of the white shelves has all my chipboard alphas, material and assorted school supplies.

Beside my desk is all my A4 papers in a wooden rack i got from a closing down lss. On top of my desk are all my pens, pencils, water colours, paintbrushes etc. The drawers on the right have chalks and oil pastels and small embellishments. My 3 desk drawers are also full of punches, adhesives, and tools. Under my desk are two boxes full of OTP waiting to be made into something. I have a small rubbish bin and a little box that i put things (that I cant be bothered putting away lol)

The shelves on top of my desk have everything else, from the top left down are.. beads and sequins containers with 26 compartments for diecut alphas, ribbons, fibres, buttons, boxes on top have decorative scissors and the drawers have assorted large embellishments. 2nd shelf is frames and tags all my stamp pads then the containers on the right have all my other embellishments.
The last shelf has an assortement of papers, envelopes, notepaper and adhesives im using currently.
Under the table between my dh and i is a huge tub full of all my stamps.

So thats my space, tiny and crammed as it is, its all mine and I dont have to pack anything away if we eat of have visitors. Id love something bigger, but this will do for now!

The boys started back to school yesterday, Jay on his own at primary school and liking his teacher so all is good. Dan went of for his first day of high school and can home ready to go back so that went well too. Josh, well it was just another day for him lol.

Still have John at home till the end of the week so normality isnt quite restored.

Happy Australia Day

I have had a wonderful quiet Australia Day weekend, the older boys have been on sleepovers and Jay and John have kept themselves busy, leaving me to scrap!
I managed to get a fair bit done

This one for an Australia Day challenge at Mystical. The photos are of my late MIL receiving her Australian Citizenship in 1958.

A couple of cards I did using a sketch from Tam, who is now looking after the card section over at Mystical. Yay for you honey!!

Then I did some scrapping for me just because. A couple of older photos that I hadnt got around to scrapping yet., and rare 12x12's from me!!

Hope that everyone has enjoyed their Australia Day weekend.

A little bit of everything

Thanks everyone for you comments about John, he is still very sore (which we expected him to be) and getting frustrated that he cant do things he wants to do. All in good time.....

I did finally get my order from Tassie.. after it was resent express post..

Been on a bit of a shopping spree this week, putting in a few orders and shopping from LSS but in my defense I have done 18 layouts so far this year, I think thats some sort of record for me!!

Here are a couple that I did for challenges at Mystical scrapbooks.

Paper Adventure - This week the prompt is "Freeze Time". I did mine a little different to Elise this week. Instead of taking a day and listing everything I did. I went with A whole lot of pictures and the fact that by taking these pictures I am in fact freezing time in a way , and am able to go back and look at them and remember them!

I have done really well with all my challenges this month and have them all done. I have all th boys school books and uniforms brought and packed and ready to go on Tuesday!!
I now have a weekend looming with only one son at home so hopefully if my patient isnt too demanding :D i might actually get some "me" scrapping done.

Have a great weekend

Cheers!

A long long day

So my day started at 6am when John woke me to get up and take him to the hospital. Dropped him of then came back home and sat in the quietness for nearly 2 hours before the boys woke up!
Then spent the morning drinking lots of coffee and trying to stay awake - 5 hours sleep is so not enough.
He went into surgery at 8am and they kept him in recovery for a very long time , it was a bit worrying (until i found out they were waiting for a bed to become free). We went in to see him in the afternoon and he was still very groggy and very very sore. Not long after we got home I got a phone call from him to say that I could go back in and pick him up any time after 7pm, they were letting him home!
He is now much happier to recover at home.

Still no order, we are assuming its lost forever and another order is being sent to me...really not happy with the level of customer service I got and will be thinking really hard before I order from there again.

So to fill in time and take my mind of things I went shopping today. I managed to pick up this gorgeous little handbag for $6 I love it!!

A couple of more layouts, both for challenges at Mystical.

Now quite often in my house these little things (sometimes big) will happen that no one knows anything about! Its a standard saying around here that 'the gremlins did it' :D
Well Sunday I got given 4 of these...
We now have a little family of gremlins lol
They are so cute.

Letting of steam

It is so frustrating and down right annoying to have been booked in for an operation, arrange for time of work, make sure that everything at work is done and ready for you to not be there for two weeks, only to be told the night before your due to be admitted that its been postponed indefinately!!
Grrrr!
OK so yes we know there is an emergency that cant be helped and we really do understand, but, his holidays cant be changed, he cantgo back to work now and take them later... and the specialist did want him to have it done in December, but he didnt want to put everyone out over christmas so we waited...now we wait again Grrrr

Whilst im venting...lets change to scrap orders and australia post. Why is it that orders from Perth sent regular mail only take 4 days to get to Brisbane, yet orders from Launceston take over 7 days sent regular mail. I dont know if this is the store or aust post, but its darn frustrating. Maybe LSS is the way to go from now on!

Lets get on to some good stuff!
The mojo is still flowing strong, im praying it never ends!

This weeks prompt for Sunday Scraps with Jen Hall - Mail Art.

use envelops you receive your mail
in this week to write letters to your
kids, family or yourself

and this lot are more from challenges at Mystical Scrapbooks.

The photo in this last one was taken by either Renee or Boo with my camera, not sure which one of you girls took it.

rain, rain, and yet more rain....

It has been raining again this week, on and off most days, and whilst i thought that it would drive me insane having the boys stuck inside all day, its been surprisingly alright! Sleepovers, computers, playstation, lego, meccano sets and game boards all make for a relatively peaceful days play.
I usually dread the last week, as im trying to get their books and uniforms all ready and they are bored and ready to go back to school, this year though, John has holidays. Now he will be recovering from the surgery he has this Thursday but it will still make things alot easier all around.

Yet more scrapping, I think the rain is keeping my mojo flowing..

These first two for challenges at Mystical Scrapbooks.

This is for the January 123 challenge.

Got another one done today, but I need to photograph it because it has too many lumpy bits, so will do that tomorrow.

lets bowl

The boys all got given two free games of ten pin bowling for christmas. Yesterday we took them to use them. John didnt play because of his back, but I played with them, and to use a term from the boys... I owned them... lol
We played the two games and I won both, with Dan following close behind in the 2nd game.
Here are some photos from the day..

The other day the postman delivered me some awesome goodies!! Look at all this that I received from the Fantastic Lusi!!!

The boys slept outside in the new tent last night, wasnt that an experience... it was after midnight before we got them to be quiet and go to sleep and then of course mum had to wait up just a bit longer to make sure they were going to be alright lol
They liked it because they want to do it again tonight!
Not sure im all for again tonight as Josh has gone to a mates and its just the two younger ones..we will see.

Hope you all had a great day!

the creatitive bug is still here

I cant believe how much mojo I have at the moment. Its great! I think that chatting with Tam each day and scrapping with her has really helped keep me motivated too.

This one is for the A to Z challenge at Scraptastic Southwest. A cool new challenge that started this month with a different letter every fortnight. Check it out here.
My poor little boy after after bike accident, was a little sore and sorry for himself.

This one for the monthly challenge at KSK

Yet another challenge out there in blog world, this one can be found on Jen Halls blog - Sunday Scraps.
A weekly prompt every Sunday that we can use to create whatever we wish.

Week ONE:

Prompt - Create a layout using packaging of some kind.

I decided to do another mini book, this one about my family. I used week ones prompt to do the cover. The card itself is from one of the boys toys they got for christmas and the little strip of yellow at the bottom is from a panadol packet. I took of all the silver foil and then cut out the plastic bubbles and painted it.

Hoping that the mojo sticks around and that it isnt some sort of phase im going through.

Ive done 4 layouts and a card and started a mini album this year already!

This one is for Aussie Scrapjacked, a lift of Kim Archer.
My oldest boy at just 4 years old, god that seems like much more than 10 years ago!

This one is for the monthly challenge at KSK, my baby girl, although she is nearly 2 now!

Paper adventure

Whilst blog surfing yesterday I found this site with a new challenge, and of course im a challenge junkie so of course I had to do it!

Paper adventure 08 its very similar to OLW or Deck of Me, and should be lots of fun.
Ive chosen to make mine in a little circle tags which I will keep on a ring.
Here is the cover tag, on the back of this i just covered it with pp and put the name of the challenge.

Balance is the first prompt and this is the front...

and journaling on the back...

Also got OLW prompt done for this week, the word is "Steps" really wasnt sure what to do and had this leftover photo from others id cropped and then found this quote and went with it..

Been really hot and humid here today, and the storm that was brewwing...all 15 minutes of it, cooled it down a little, but as soon as it stopped its got humid again.

More scrapping to be done!

cheers
