Bring on Autumn...

OMG yesterday was so so so HOT! It got to 40 C outside, im sure it was more inside, we dont have air con but had all the fans going flat out, not that it made much difference. We then had to drive over an hour in a car with no air con to get to a birthday party. Sweating was definatley the word of the day.
Today whilst still hot is much cooler than yesterday, 27C.

The birthday party we went to was heaps of fun, good food, music, friends, a great night!

Here are a couple of layouts I got done earlier in the week.

A challenge with a twist, Starting on Sunday 24th February and going until midnight on Saturday 29th March by just being an active member here will give you a chance to win!
So how does it work....
There will be a points system for various things around the forum and gallery, those points will be tallied up at the end of the allotted time and the member with the most points wins! Simple isnt it!!
Who doesnt want to win something right ? So head on over and try your luck!!

Hope everyone's weekend was awesome!

Make a statement..

Paper Adventure 08

This week, Boldly state something.

Your statement could be a reaffirmation of your new year's resolution. It could be an intent you have. Or a mantra you want to incorporate. Your statement could be a declaration of love...for your significant other, your parent, your goldfish.

It just has to be real. And true to you. And by all means, make it bold.

I am Capable, of doing anything that I set my mind to. No more doubts or negativeness!

This layout is for Mystical Scrapbooks, a scraplift of Wendy Smith.

The season begins

The last two days we have spent at football sign ons (the joys of being committee members). First training for the older two starts tomorrow night. Herein starts my schedule of training two nights a week, auskick one night, then in a month games on both Saturday and Sunday. Cant complain though, much rather be running around after the boys playing sport than have them sitting at home doing nothing.

So still have the mojo flowing and creating more than ever.

This is for Paper Adventure 08, the prompt this week "Colour"

This next lot are for challenges at Mystical.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

So fast forward to Wednesday and the fact that being a one car family now, im without transport. I so getting cabin fever! There is only so much scrapping you can do to keep occupied during a day, I really need to get outside this house or at least talk to another adult besides John lol

So anyways...

Scrapbooking? How do you motivate yourself and still enjoy the process??

This is the prompt for the new blog challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks. Each week we will be given a different prompt to blog about. How cool is that, something interesting to blog about, but... also be in the draw to win a gift voucher from the store!!
So on with my post....

Since I started scrapbooking all other craft (and some other) hobbies have hit the back burner, it has been front and centre of 'me time' and I still love doing it after almost 6 years, it would be hard not to love it I think.
Motivation comes pretty easy for me, I am a challenge junkie and with so many awesome challenge blogs out there and the amazing challenges to be found at Mystical each month keep my creative juices flowing.
If I do get in a slump and find it hard to come up with something, I browse through online galleries, scrapbooking ones, art and photo ones.
If a particular project is causing me grief then I will put it aside for the time being and try something different. A card or art journal page are great for being able to let yourself go and do whatever to try and get that motivation and love back on track.

The new word this week over at One LIttle Word is "Create", fairly easy word this time around.
The photo I chose is of my FIL, he has always been very artistic and has painted and created most of his life. After suffering a stroke and losing his wife in the last couple of years he had stopped and just recently he started creating again, it is something that he really enjoys and has helped him immensly with his healing process.

This weekend at Mystical we had a cybercrop, was lots of fun and lots of scrapping got done. I managed 5 out of the 6 challenges.
These are the layouts I got done.

Sometimes I wonder about how much people really listen or take notice of things you say. Online it can be very hard to really know someone of course, but if you are interested in getting to know a person you would take note of the important/basic details of them wouldnt you ? I know I do.
LIttle things like what colours you like or dont like, what you do (ie work etc) whether your married or not, if you have boys or girls, how old they are (not always specific ages, but babies/toddlers/teens).
I talk alot about my 3 sons and the fact that they are teens and pre teens, I scrap about them and post layouts about them all the time.
Imagine my surprise to be sent a RAK (of which I was thrilled to get and had some awesome goodies in it) with baby boy products!
Is someone trying to tell me that I should have another baby lol...I DONT THINK SO!! lol

anyways... kids are at school and John went back to work today after being at home for almost 3 weeks! I am so going to enjoy my day all to myself.

Have a good one!

Cheers

February already...

Didnt January just fly by, Only seems like last week we were getting over christmas, now we have got the kids all sent of to school and settling back into our normal routines, or at least trying to.

Start of the month brings on new challenges. This month over at Scraptastic South West we have two awesome challenges running, hop on over and check them out try your luck at winning a gift voucher!
This is my monthly mojo challenge - "what is your favourite time of the day" using the fantastic sassafras lass owls pals range of papers and diecuts!

The new prompt up at Paper Adventure is "the little picture" pick a little picture that speaks to you in a big way.
I was flicking through my photos trying to decide which one to use and saw this one and immediately knew that was it. This is my son on the day of his 4th birthday. We were in Tassie visiting my mum and dad. He looks so happy and like he is having so much fun, and he was! 4days before that he was admitted to the hospital after having 3 grand mal seizures and the day after his birthday he had another one and was admitted again!
This photos reminds me (he is 10 now) what a trooper he was through the whole process of having him diagnosed with not one but two major illnesses and how brave he has been and how well he has coped with everything that has been done to him and everything he has need to do to have his health become stable. So proud of you 'bub'

Another layout I did just for me..
