A jam packed weekend

So much for lazy weekends! They just dont exist at our place from March to September. Its not all a bad thing though, I love that the boys are active and out in the fresh air getting exercise and not sitting inside at home all weekend!
Saturday morning John had to work, Jay had a practice match at home, so of to the club nice and early. Thanks Tania for the lift! I looked after the canteen during the game (more news on that further down).
Saturday arvo we spent tidying up around the house, getting lawns mowed, movign cars ready to be picked up by wreckers - yay will have a wreck free yard soon!
Sunday morning up early and of to football again, both Josh and Dan had games, and John was kept busy with his sports trainer duties.
Got a couple of photos Sunday (didnt get a chance saturday woking the canteen).

Jenny and Matt met us at football and watched the last 1/4 then back to our place for coffee and awesome chats, they stayed for dinner and left around 7.30. Was so nice to catch up with them again, we really must do it more often.

Yesterday I got offered a job, nothing major, working the canteen at the football club for every Saturday home game for the season. I of course said yes! It means I will miss Jay's away games, and have to be up bright and early every Saturday regardless of the boys game times. What it does mean though is a little pocket money for me every week, and you cant argue with that.

Got a busy day ahead, challenges to finish, dt work to complete, a house to sort out and new scrap goodies - my Mystical order arrived yummy cosmo cricket and my treasure hunt prize pack from Mystical - to put away!!

Have a great day :)

There are new smells, new life starting all over the place, its like a new beginning that happens every year.

Mary I have all my circles on a ring together, they look great. Will get a photo soon, its been really rainy and dull here this week.

Am I happy ?

Is the big question for the week.
It is this week's prompt or the Rock your blog challenge at Mystical

Do you think you are happy with your life right now? Blog about the great things in your life or what you would like to change.

When I really sit and think and be honest with myself about this, then I have to say that I am happy with where I am at right now.
Yes there are things that I don't have, things I yearn for, things I would love to change. I miss my family and friends back home in Tassie so much, especially around holiday times. It would be nice to be able to visit them more regulary.
If I focussed on the things I don't have all the time then I think I would end up making myself miserable. I like to believe that by focusing on what I do have and all the things in my life that are good then everything else will fall into place.
I have a wonderful hubby, 3 awesome kids (most of the time lol) a small group of friends (online and irl) and we are all healthy.
Everything else is a bonus.
I really do have alot to be grateful for.

Are you happy ?

cheers

Family fun

Happy Easter to everyone, hope that the bunny brought you lots of yummy goodies. With the boys being older, easter bunny isnt a big thing at our place, but they sure do love the chocolates!!
Yesterday we had a visit from Vik, Jim and the girls, was a nice afternoon of chatting and playing. Jess is getting so big now, and has this personality that makes me laugh. think she is taking after her dad more than her mum lol
Josh asked for a photo shoot yesterday to (OMG yep he asked lol - think its got something to do with the girls he chats with!)
So we obliged and here are a few of the shots we took, plus some of Jess.

This is my layout for the last of the Music Madness challenges at Mystical.

This week on Paper adventure the prompt is Luck... Just a simple one this time around with a four leaf clover and glitter, and a quote I found that I really love.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Easter plans

Has been a quiet week in our household with Dan away at camp, no fighting and bickering between brothers has been nice. We did miss him though and was nice to have him back home again.
Whilst Dan was away at camp he received a letter from AFL Queensland. He has been invited to take part in the under 14 bushrangers trials, this is a pretty big deal and we are all excited for him!!

The Rock your blog prompt from Mystical this week is...
What are your plans for the Easter Long weekend?

Easter bunny isnt a big deal for us anymore now that the boys are getting older, mind you they still love getting chocolate.
We have no real plans for the 4 days, just hanging out at home, maybe some bbq's if the weather stays nice. Be nice just to have 4 days of where we dont have to be anywhere by a certain time.

Been scrapping as usual and have got a couple to share.
This one from the 123 challenge.

this one for a challenge at Mystical.

Paper Adventure

Tell me: What habits to you have? What routines to you follow?
Are this habits ones you would like to break, or are they a part of you that you enjoy? Take some time and write it out.
I have quite a few but chose my lists..I have them everywhere, for everything, my life just wouldnt exist without them.

This is for the OTP challenge at Mystical, alter a book cover, i chose to do one for my journaling.

I have been busy making things for the school craft stall lately , just a few little things with stuff I have at home. A friend suggested that I should try and sell some of them.....
Not entirely comfortable with this aspect (never think my stuff is good enough for others to want to spend good money on)
So...here a few of the things ive made...

What do you think? worth trying to sell ? Anyone want to buy one ? lol
If you are interested in one of them please feel free to leave me a comment or email me at skippiechick@hotmail.com

About the past...

Its amazing how you dont think much about things that you did in the past alot, then along comes a challenge that triggers a memory. That happened to me this week, the Music madness challenge at Mystical got me thinking about when John was a Dj and all the discos that he did, they were certainly fun times.
This is the layout i did for the challenge.

This is my layout for One Little Word - find

Layout for the second round of the March alpha challenge at Scraptastic, The letter F.
Used Junkitz Destinations papers, die cuts, and transparency ribbons.
Head on over and check out the challenge for yourself.

In other news, John managed to fix the car himself, saving us more money (love a hubby thats knows cars!) the phone however is still not working...we are setting ourselves up a skype account for now to get us our of trouble, much cheaper than using the mobiles all the time.

Its the only one iv'e got...

My name that is..well legal one anyway, im pretty sure ive been called a million things besides my name over the years lol

This week's prompt for Mystical Rock your blog is...

Where did your name come from? Who choose it? What were the other options? Does anyone else in your family have the same name? Have you ever met anyone with the same name as you?

Im not really sure how my dad thought of my name, I do know that I was supposed to be a Leanne. My mum spent over 36 hours in labour with me and my dad spent most of that time at the pub....
When he arrived at the hospital and saw me he took one look and said "thats not a Leanne its a Lisa"...
...and so I became...

As far as I know (they may be distant cousins I dont know) there is no one else in my family with the same name..weird seeing how common it is.

As for have i ever met anyone with the same name...i think it would be pretty freaky if I hadnt dont you?

The Hebrew name Lisa means - consecrated to God

The English name Lisa means - a short form of Elizabeth

I google to see how many famous people are named after me (ok ok i know) there are a few..

Lisa Maree Presley
Lisa Simpson
LIsa Ho
Mona Lisa
Lisa Kudrow

just to name a few.... now if only i had their money and talent lol

letting of steam

Today is my day with the car during the week, its always a busy day getting everything done in one day.
Today started of like every other Thursday, organised early and in the car ready to go...well today unlike other Thursday's I get as far as the lights down the road, when my car stalls, no problem, just restart it...Wrong..it wouldnt restart, no matter what I did :( I was stuck right in the lane at the lights.. some nice guy (stuck behind me so he needed me moved)helped me move the car to a matchbox space on the other side of road...
Where i sent John (who was at work with no transport) a text, he rang me just as a tow truck driver pulled up...between the two of them (via phone) they tried a couple of things to no avail...so the tow truck driver towed me home - I then had to pay him cash for doing so (thank god for the boys wallets - psa remember to pay it back).
So much for my busy day out.....
If that isnt bad enough...
We have had problems with our home phone for a few weeks, it is ok for a few minutes then it cuts out, the internet still works fine though. So the phone company send a guy out to look at it, he fiddles around, says its fine he will look at the box down the road...fast forward 3 hours...we have no phone at all....
Another text to John...and several not so nice calls to phone company on his behalf and we still have no phone, but apparently they are working on it.....
If they myth is true and things come in threes...im not gonna wake up tomorrow....

Ok vent over....

This is my layout for this weeks White with 1 challenge - Green :)

This is for the use your stash challenge at Mystical - chipboard.

This one for the Mystical scrapjack, this is a lift of Annie's wonderful layout.

Hope your day was better than mine

Where did the weekend go

Wow, the weekend just seemed to fly by. John worked Saturday morning and then we did a bit of shopping in the afternoon, then spent a family night watching movies.
Sunday we were up and out way to early for Josh's bushrangers trials at Mt Gravatt. He played so well, proud of him for the effort he put in. Now just have to wait and see if the powers that be think he is good enough for the state squad!

Some layouts that I got done last week...

Paper Adventure

This week, write about your talent. Yours. Not your dog's, or your friend's or your kid's. Allow yourself to be impressed with what you can do.
Netball is something that I have played for lots and lots of years and (if i do say so myself) im very good at. I have played both womens and mixed and love it!

The following are all for challenges at Mystical.

The season has started...

This weekend started our run of full on football weekends and no more sleep ins or lazy weekend days. The first round of practice matches started on Sunday, with a few more to come before the season games officially start. Josh has Bushies trials this weekend as well.
Took this photo whilst watching the game Sunday thought it would make a great page.

The latest music madness challenge at Mystical is Alternate, hippy, psychodelic colours, tye dye and flowers. I had fun creating this one.

The word this week for One Little Word is "Time" I could of gone with lots of things for this one, but I love this quote and it sums up Jay and Nica so well.

This month I am lucky enough to be a Guest designer for Enchanted Scrapbooking!! Jodi sent me a package of heir wonderful fairy kit and this is the layout that I created. Very out of the box for me doing a girly layout.
Thanks girls for having me as your guest designer this month :)

Have a great day :)

As promised the layouts I got deon from the cybercrop at Mystical over the weekend.

It was my turn to do one of the takes of Scrap your Scraps challenge this week, Ngaire asked us to make 3 bookmarks from our scraps and these are what I came up with.

Paper adventure
So this week, document a piece of advice.
Advice you took. Advice you did not take. Advice you should have took. Advice you gave. Advice you wish you could have gave.

Rock your blog challenge at Mystical is still going and the prompt for this week is What would you like to achieve this month.
With football training starting now for Jay as well as the other two boys, and practice games happening of a weekend, I want to be more organised during the week. Stop wasting so much time on silly things and concentrate on getting done what has to be done. Make sure that my scrapping comittments are completed ahead of time so I am not rushed.
I would also like to lose 5kg. Since stopping Netball and Soccer last year my weight got away from me and I now want to get back to where I was. I have started walking 2 nights a week while th boys are at footy training. I did 8 laps of the football oval tonight which I though was pretty good!

Cheers
