Months end..

Day 31

I need to write myself a memo about grocery shopping - make sure you bring ALL the bags home with you...
I left a bag at the shops today, not so bad you say, just ring them take yr receipt in all fixed...
Yep, easy fixed NOT...i didnt realise that the bag was missing (boys put the groceries away) until 8.30 tonight, receipt had already gone out into the rubbish and been collected by the big bad truck :(
So after ringing the store, I have to go up and go through their videos of yesterday to see what happened to the bag..sigh....

The rest of the day however was alright, I finished of Nica's bday present and got these layouts scanned and uploaded.

This one is for the VC challenge at Memories and More, were only allowed to use 2 photos, 2 CS, 2 PP, 2 buttons, and 2 ribbons.


This one for the Use your stash challenge at KSK. We were asked to only use what was on your desk. All leftovers from previous creations. Was fun to do and made me realise what you can do with just a little bit.


Tomorrow is the start of winter, which will hopefully bring us some rain in the right areas.
Got a few areas of my house that need sorting and re organising tomorrow, which I Hope to get all done before heading of for my niece's birthday dinner.

Day 29

OMG I am so excited and jumping up and down (well I was a cple hours ago)!!
I won the first prize over at Aussie Scrapjacked with lift I did of Mardi Winnen!!
I even rang my dh all excited, he was like 'oh ok well done' MEN!
I get a package from Bella and a store voucher from Memory Bugs!

I found this really hard to do, not somuch the design of the card but comming up with qualities about myself. I finally got it done with help from dh and my oldest son.


This layout was totally fun to do, its for a challenge that Donna set us over at Collective Creative.


This layout is for Ngaire's Beautiful, like a rainbow challenge. I printed of this picture and realised i was running out of ink, so changed the cartridges and printed another one. When I sat and looked at this layout I decide that I would scrap it. The beauty is inside me not just on the outside, so thats what I tried to portray with this layout.



Had a really productive day today and now its time to clean up my messy desk lol

Day 28

Got the kids of to school this morning then scrapped, the mojo is flowing really nicely of late the layouts are just comming together without too much thinking.
Got a cple more done today.

This one of Jayden, We are baffled by that fact that no matter what the temperature is, whenever he is swimming and gets out of the water he starts to shiver (even if its 40C outside).


I love this photo of my DH, he rarely lets me take a pic of him, so getting one like this was awesome. This layout is for a challenge at KSK, inspiration taken from a layout by Raylene.


Started on my layout for the handbag challenge on Collective Creative as well, and painted my card ready for this weeks Deck of me.
Got a few more challenges I need to finish before the end of the month, I plan to sit and scrap all day tomorrow too, hopefully getting some of my list done.

Day 27

A few pics to share from today. I looked after a friends children this morning, the girls are just so gorgeous and bubbly. They were just great to look after and all of them get on well with my boys.
This is Kaleisha, such a gorgeous little girl and loved posing for me.


Katelyn wasnt as keen, but ya know it was only 8am.


This is my favourite, it was so obvious today that they both adore each other.


This one I just had to take, thought it was so cute! Maybe Jay will grow up to be a hairdresser lol


Jay found a great spot to hide during hide and seek, even if mum did freak and make him get down!


No sooner had the Kyle and the girls been picked up and we had to leave for Josh's football game. Although they didnt win, Josh played so well, some great marks, tackles and kicks!

Home and a coffee and laze on the couch was the order for the rest of the day, I was spoilt too, Josh asked if he could cook dinner. Would of been bad of me to say no right ? He cooked us a great meal of garlic and mint sausages, baked potatoes and beans, was so proud of him!

Been a long day, time for some much needed sleep.

Day 26

My baby boy (ok he isnt really a baby anymore) woke me up at 7am this morning hungry! He is all better! It was just a 24 hour bug..
Had Dan's football game today and they won! Was such a close game and last 5 minutes was a nail biter. Think the coach might of bitten all his off lol.

I have been scrapping layouts just because the last few days not ones from challenges and the mojo has been flowing, its fantastic.

This one is from a bbq we had a cple years ago for the Qld Ice Hockey refs association.


This layout took me ages to actually decide how I wanted to lay it out. The only picture I have of Elizabeth is this tiny passport size one, but I wanted to tell our story. Let the journaling be the focus and am happy with the way it turned out.


Going to try and get an early (earlier) night, am babysitting tomorrow morning at 7am! Going to need lots and lots of coffee I think lol.
Then heading of to the city for Josh's football game. So a full on day ahead.

Day 25

Had to keep Jayden home today, poor thing woke up a couple of times during the night being sick, he tried to eat some dry toast this morning but coudlnt even keep that down. He slept alot and finally about 2pm managed to keep some food down. He seems to have perked up alot tonight, hopefully it was just a 24 hour bug.

Finally getting around to doing scrapping some layouts from years ago, this one is of my cousin and her neighbours who I used to babysit evey 2nd weekend. They are all gorgeous kids and so loveable!


I got happy mail today!!
A package filled with lots of awesome scrappy delights from Maggie as well as some oh so yummy chocolate from here!!
Thank you so much Maggie, brightened up my day :)

Action packed weekend of taxxing to various sports grounds starting tomorrow morning... bring on Spetember!

Where did the day go..

Day 24

Ever have one of those days where you are flat out busy all day, but it doesnt feel like you actually achieved anything ?
I was on the go early this morning with lots of things on my list to do, but by the time i got home all I felt like I had done was just drive around.

I got a phone call from the school that Jay wasnt feeling well, went and picked him up, he had been vomitting :( brought him home and he went to bed and slept for over an hour. He tried to eat and drink something but just brought it back up again. He managed some toast for dinner and seems to have perked up a little before bed. Will see how he is in the morning.

Good news about my FIL his wrist isnt broken after all, he has strained the ligaments surrounding his wrist. Whilst it is great his wrist isnt broken, they did say that ligaments in the elderly take longer to heal than a break. :(

Day 23

We all have lots of scraps leftover from our layouts. You can only make so many cards and the rest just sit and either get thrown out or given away.
Scrap the scraps helps with ideas to use up all those scraps.

Change

Day 22

Not alot to report tonight, didnt do anything exciting today, but I did scrap.

The prompt this week on Emilys deck of me is Change How do you feel about it, what big or small changes have you made.
This was easy for me, 7 years ago almost we made the decision to pack everything up, leave all our families and make the move from Tasmania to Queensland. This was huge for me, first time that I would live more than 2 hours from my parents. No popping in for coffee, a play with the boys, no family events. It was a very sad day when we boarded the boat and left them all standing on the dock watching.
On the upside, as much as we miss all our families and friends heaps the move proved to be good for us in all aspects.


This one is of a friends daughter at Opti Minds a couple of years ago. Wasnt sure about the colours to start with but they grew on me and now I like them. ( I know Kathryn will love it just because it has purple in it lol)

Flex your mind

Day 21

The weather man decided to surprise us today with some cooler weather. I wore jeans for the first time this year (Tassie trip being the exception).

I transferred all my layouts from the albums into ring binders today and made tags to slip into the pockets on the spine, took up the most part of my day. I would scan them to show, but with all the computer problems we are having lately that would mean using the other computer and emailing them, its all just too hard.

Finished the latest round of Flex your mind. The challenge was to find that photo that was blurry or out of focus, but told a story as well as use papers that you have had since you started scrapping.
The papers I used were Flavia ones that were among the first I ever brought, I cut them into the circles.
The photo is from 2003 and I almost threw it out awhile ago, but something stopped me. It was taken the last time my mum and dad came to visit. We had such a great time, mum and I having a competition so see who could hit the most balls in totem tennis. Made me realise just how much I miss living close to them.



We recently worked out some problems with the boys feet, Josh runs on his heels and not the balls of his feet, and Dan has flat feet. Tonight John fixed up some foam for them both to wear in their football boots to trial. It all seemed to work well.

Wow, its taken me that long to type all this that its past midnight, but I did start before then I promise lol

Busy but boring

Day 20

Where did May go, this year is moving along way to quickly, before we know it will be Christmas again...thats scary!

Nothing to show tonight, no layouts or other creations, no photos. Would you believe though we have been flatout all weekend.
John worked Saturday morning so it was up to me to get the boys up and to the ground in time for Dan's football game (thankfully Jay had a bye this week). The boys played well but lost. John turned up around 1/4 time, it was the first time he had seen Dan play!

I decided ( oh why do I do this) that I didnt like the way my stash was organised, so started on moving things and putting them where I wanted them - which will probably only be for 6 mths lol. I made more mess than organisation though I think.

We got a phone call from Tony last night to let us know that John's dad has broken his wrist :( as if life hasnt been cruel enough for him. He broke the left wrist, which makes it hard for him to do things as the stroke affected his right side and he still has problems doing things. Luckily Tony is still in Tassie with him and can help him out for a little while.

Sunday morning and we up are bright and early and off for yet another football game, this time Josh. The guys had a awesome game and just got done by 2 points in the last 3 minutes.

To go with the re organising (which I finished this afternoon) I have decided to go with 3 ring binders for the boys and our family layouts. So of shopping and picked up a few binders and spent a hour or so filling them with layouts. They sit so nicely on the shelf and they hold so much more than a postbound album.

Heard from a girl I used to play soccer with tonight, we lost contact after we stopped playing soccer. Was so nice to hear from her and will be great to catch up.

Im of now to do boring chores like fold clothes and Iron !!

Day 19

Still having some computer issues here so wasnt able to get online to post yesterday.

Did get some scrapping done though, this one for the Aussie sketches blog, Chris Millar lift.


One of the new sites I spoke about in my last post One Little Word, the first word challenge was 'Go'. I brought a A5 notepad and have decided to do all my layouts for these challenges in this. This is my take on 'Go'


Life just seems to be so hectic lately, as Im sure it is for most of us. Always on the go seemed to fit this so well.

Day 16

I was so organised today that I had everything done I needed to get done early, so I treated myself to some scrap shopping at Scrapbook Princess! Was good though and didnt break the bank just a few papers and some bazzil.

Popped in to see Donna, been ages since we have caught up, it was nice to sit and chat.

I was playing around last night after I had to make a journaling spot for a layout and made these, they need some work...


While I was out shopping today I came across a little florist shop that had this adoreable mobile hanging in the window, and at $4.50 a bargain I just had to have. The colours didnt come out to well it is actually a nice purple and pink and aqua. There are 7 of each of the flowers and 7 dragonflys. I am already thinking ahead to what I can do with these.

I am one of those 30%, well I was until now!
Its time to believe that we are beautiful and to help us all start Ngaire is issuing us all a challenge.
so I would like to issue a challenge to each and every one of you who come here to share with me...
lets all make a layout that speaks of OUR OWN BEAUTY!!!. Because how can we encourage our daughters.. if we dont feel beautiful ourselves??????

Surprise

Day 15

Had a relaxing day doing not alot today, one of hte rare days that I dont have a million errands to run or have anywhere to be at night.
Got my deck of me card done and a layout.

have you been surprised lately? how do you feel about surprises? got a funny story to tell about a surprise? ever pulled a good one on someone? had a surprise party?
I painted my card then attached the stitched flower and doodle that I cut from a piece of lacy material. Added the ribbon and stickers and journaled.

In family news, FIL is home from hospital and much better after his pneumonia, BIL finally made it to Tassie after being stuck in the desert. Everything can be finalised now and Dad can try and get himself into some sort of routine.

You would think that with 2 days of no net, no forums or blogs or other sites to spend my time browsing that I would of been able to get heaps of scrapping done right ? Wrong!
I spent alot of that time watching tv or knitting, but did manage to get a few layouts done for challenges.

Mothers Day

Day 13


HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

These 3 ladies have had such an impact on my life, they have taught me so much, guided me, helped me and scolded me. I love all of them dearly.
Whilst only one of them is alive today to be spoilt all 3 of them are loved and remebered.






I have had a beautiful day so far, the boys and hubby have been absolutely wonderful.


In other news...
We had some major problems with computers this week, having to completely shut down and do some maintenance. Thus me not being around since Wednesday..
I thought not having net access would be a real pain, but I didnt really miss it that much. I got quite alot of scrapping done and even started knitting a blanket for a friend having a baby soon.

Will have some layouts to share tomorrow hopefully as soon as we get software reloaded.
