Old school craft is new again

Weaving seems to ave made a bit of a comeback lately (maybe it didnt entirely go away at all). Ive been seeing so much inspiration all over the web and in stores.
When I was a child I remember having a loom and giving it a go and decided to see if I could remember how it was done again. I asked the boys to make me up a loom and before they got around to it I found my original childhood loom stashed away in a cupboard. I had forgotten all about rescuing it from mum and dads last time i was down in Tassie as Dad was going to toss it.

After a quick look around Pinterest and google to jog my memory on how to start and the basics I picked out my yarn and got into it!
I stayed pretty basic with it just lines mostly but did feelbrave enough to split and do some half joins.

Pretty happy with how it turned out being my first time in umm like hmm lets just say lots of years!
Next time I will have to watch my tension as it pulled a little and needed to be a touch tighter through the middle.
I have a couple more planned, thinking these might make great little gifts for christmas or birthdays!

Thanks for stopping by
Lis :)

  3. Very cute. Now I want to see if I still have the one I bought a few years back at a garage sale. I'm thinking a cute little bag for cell phone and lipstick.

  4. this is awesome - how cool that you still have a loom from your childhood - that's really special. Weaving is on my list of things to try - I think I'm going to try it out on cardboard first and then maybe look into the real thing :)
