Crochet Star blanket

Hands up who has a huge stash of leftover wool ? Me! For some reason I always seem to have alot of every colour left over, think maybe im over buying. I dont think I have ever completed a project without having lefovers.

This year I have challenged myself to use up all those bits and pieces of wool, could be a bit of a challenge as they are not all the same ply or type of wool. I also made a promise to myself not to make any blankets larger than a cot blanket this year.

I pulled out my large crate and various bags of yarn and did a major sort and grouped all those leftovers into colour groups. Deciding where to start was the next bit, the pinks and purples were what I had the least amount of so went with that. Next what to make ? Much searching and time wasting looking at so many pretty things lol and I found a star blanket pattern.

Never having made a blanket in anything other  than square or rectangle before I thought this might be a bit of a challenge. Much to my surprise and delight it was much easier than I thought it would be. The hardest part was choosing which colours to use where hahaha.
Pretty happy with how it turned out, and now I have another gift stored away in my handmade basket.

I have a couple of other baby blankets to share with you soon, just waiting for little bubba Fifi to be born! Dont want to spoilt the surprise for mumma Angel! So as soon as she makes an appearance I will be able to share.

Thanks for stopping by
Lis :)
