and so that was Christmas....

The fact we have teen boys means that our day doesnt start at the crack of dawn, instead we get to sleep till a reasonable hour...This year Jay was first up, then Dan, they both then went and woke Josh up, but left John and I to sleep...that is until the phone rang at 8am...my sister in Tassie deciding it was late enough to ring lol
So then the day started, the lounge quickly became a disaster area with presents and paper everywhere.
Breakfast (not something i normally do) was OJ and croissants and profiteroles, then dressed and back to the new toys. I got a digital camera so i enjoyed playing with that. The Wii got a big workout as well as Dan's DS lite.
Lunch was pretty non existant, the boys just picking during the day. We then got food ready and went up to Jim and Vicki's for a lovely christmas dinner.
Here is our day in pictures...

Christmas night Jay started feeling of and wasnt good boxing day either, then I started to feel ill and later that night Josh did as well...Gastro at christmas isnt what was on the lists. So JOhn and Dan spent yesterday looking after us all and boiling lots of water.
Today see us all alot better though so glad it seems to of been just a 24 hour thing.

Hope that you all had a wonderful christmas.

Cheers Lis :)

6 days to go.....

Till Santa comes that is...
My household like millions of others out there is flat out preparing for all the festivities.
Tomorrow night we are having a bbq with Jen, Matt and Uncle Joe, should be fun havent seen Uncle Joe in ages.

Got a little creating done...
Inspired blueprints sketches #5 and 6.

had a quick trip to the doctors yesterday, Josh fainted the other day when he was at a mates, so thought we should get him a checkup, have to go get bloods done then back to check results.
Jay has had a asthma attack as well, we know the plan of attack and have all the meds here at home, but wanted the doc to check him over and just confirm we are doing what we should be.

I will be working on my Buzz and Bloom DT projects over the next couple of weeks, the products are just awesome!! so stay tuned for some sneek peeks. Also check out the others girls blogs (links in side bar) for some of their peeks too.

Cheers Lis :)

A little bit of everything

Last Tuesday Jay's school had their Christmas Carols night, its always a great night, lots of singing, lots of fun. This year was no exception, spent a lovely night listening to all the classes sing, and some beautiful solos by a couple of gorgeous little girls, chatting with Deb and Jason and just enjoying the merriment of it all.
Jay's class sang "A very merry Christmas" and "You gotta be" during the last song they all took turns to come into the crowd and give out candy canes to all the little kiddies, its was so cute.

Well the weekend saw our Christmas tree go up, normally a whole family thing, but with 2 teens in the house this didnt happen this year, Jay did a great job decorating the tree and helping me put together the christmas display.

The finished product.

Wreath I made for the front door.

Out little tree full of all the beaded decorations that my mum has made the boys over the years.

A little bit of creating has happened in the scrap room too.
This one for Ad This December challenge.

This one is for Category Stories - decorating.

and lastly one for Out of the hat challenge - Use 2 photos, a transparency and journal 100 words.

Hope that everyones chrismast preperations are going smoothly, a reminder to Tam to stop and breath every now and again hehe and have a great day!

Cheers Lis :)

Im so not ready

Where did the time go, i thought that i was pretty much organised and on top of things, then whammo its the 14th and I still have way too much to do.
The heat hasnt helped its been so hot and humid here all this week, that no one has felt like hurrying around doing a million things.
The boys are all finished school for the year now, hard to believe that next year Jay is in his last year of Primary school!

In between all the business of christmas organising and present making I got a few layouts done.

This is a card for Inkurable Stampers, had to use scallops and or course a stamp.

Some tags i did for a challenge at Mystical.

This one for the Aussie Roadmaps sketch.

This one is Stuck sketch #67

This one is for White with 1, festive colours and bling.

Thank you so much to all the girls who left me comments, sent me texts and messages for my birthday! It made me feel special :)

Christmas photo shoot

Just a quick post with a collage of photos from the photo shoot we did on Saturday. After a few minor disagreements and huffing and puffing, the boys relaxed and started to have fun and John just snapped away. We were happy with the photos we got. Even got some nice ones of me and one of the two of us together.
Now to make the cards and get them sent out.

Have a great day
Cheers Lis :)

Summer is here....

Well summer is well and truly here, it has been up in the 30's all week and the storms have made it really humid as well, so its been really icky weather for creating. Sweat stained pages are so not a good look.

These are a couple of bookmarks that I made for my nieces for christmas.

I did manage to get a couple of layouts done.
This one for OLW - miracle.

this one for this weeks Ad this challenge.

We had geared the boys up all week for a saturday photo session for christmas card photos.....you would think that being prepared in advance that all would go smoothly....hahaha not a chance! After a bit of grumpiness, pouting and lots of ugh's we did manage to get some great shots, will share when we get them all uploaded.

Have a great weekend

ps: Tam honey i miss you xx
Cheers Lis :)

Christmas preperation + semi formal +Creative son

As I mentioned last week Josh had his year 10 Semi-formal, getting photos was like pulling teeth, but I did manage a few nice ones. Take horrible dreary its about to storm lighting to the mix and this is one of the nicer ones.

Now this is pretty normal these days, the phone glued to his ear even while im trying to get last minute photos lol

I have been busy making lots of things for my nieces and nephews for christmas and was asked to share so here they are...
Please note that I DO NOT sew and these are my first attempts at anything other than mending lol and without patterns.

Tote Bags

Aprons

I just had to share some creative things that Dan has been doing at school, he really loves getting his hands dirty and making things.
His canvas from art class, this is going in my scrap room!

His clock from Tech, I love it, he already has it on the wall in his room.

Hope that you are having a great day and well on the way to getting yourself organised for the busy times this month...

Awards!

I have been given this fantastic award by two gorgeous girls, Melanie and Lauren.
I am so honoured to think that others love my work as much as I do, thank you girls.

How it works....
The rules for receiving the award are simple:
1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 5 blogs.
4. Put links to their blogs.
5. Leave a message for your nominees.

So I think it would be unfair to just name 5 because there are so many creative girls out there
who inspire me.
If you read this and havent already been nominated for the award then consider yourself nominated now :)

Cheers Lis :)
