Pool Party

Was my baby boys 9th birthday yesterday and we spent a wonderful afternoon at our local pool. We hired their party pool so we had the whole pool to ourselves. All the kids (and adults) had a great time swimming and throwing balls, diving for various objects and of course the food!
A few pics of our day..

Thought I would share this beautiful sunset taken from our back yard. Love the colours in the sky, is so pretty.

Hope everyone has a Awesome New Years Eve, stay safe and see you in 2007!

We have such great boys, they didnt wake us till 7.30. Im sure it was really hard for Jay to wait that long lol.
Paper and gifts flying all over the lounge, everyone got awesome gifts and was really happy. A quick play and off to my sisters for lunch. Spent a wonderful day, watching my gorgeous Jess on her first christmas, she was totally overwhelmed.
These are just a few pics of our day, the boys opening gifts in the morning, Jess kissing the baby doll we gave her, nica opening her gift, and a nice one of the boys I didnt even know was taken until today!

A christmas story

An extra post today just so I could share this poem, i found on a thread at 2peas

BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.
I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big
sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even
dummies know that!"
My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that
day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma
always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a
whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her "world-famous"
cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said
so. It had to be true.
Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told
her everything. She was ready for me. "No Santa Claus?" she snorted....
"Ridiculous! Don't believe it. That rumor has been going around for
years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and
let's go."
"Go? Go where, Grandma?" I asked. I hadn't even finished my second
world-famous cinnamon bun. "Where" turned out to be Kerby's
General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about
everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten
dollars.
That was a bundle in those days. "Take this money," she said, "and buy
something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car." Then
she turned and walked out of Kerby's.
I was only eight years old. I'd often gone shopping with my mother, but
never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big
and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas
shopping. For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching
that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it
for.
I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors,
the kids at school, the people who went to my church. I was just about
thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid
with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in
Mrs. Pollock's grade-two class.
Bobby Decker didn't have a coat. I knew that because he never went
out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling
the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby
Decker didn't have a cough; he didn't have a good coat. I fingered the
ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a
coat!
I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real
warm, and he would like that.
"Is this a Christmas present for someone?" the lady behind the counter
asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. "Yes, ma'am," I replied
shyly. "It's for Bobby."
The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed
a good winter coat. I didn't get any change, but she put the coat in a bag,
smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.
That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat (a little tag fell out of
the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) in Christmas paper and
ribbons and wrote, "To Bobby, From Santa Claus" on it.
Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me
over to Bobby Decker's house, explaining as we went that I was
now and forever officially, one of Santa's helpers.
Grandma parked down the street from Bobby's house, and she and I
crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma
gave me a nudge. "All right, Santa Claus," she whispered, "get going."
I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down
on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes
and Grandma.
Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to
open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.

Fifty years haven't dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering,
beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker's bushes. That night, I realized
that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma
said they were -- ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on
his team.
I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.

May you always have LOVE to share, HEALTH to spare and FRIENDS
that care...And may you always believe in the magic of Santa Claus!

Merry Chrismas to you all :)

Another Day

Somedays are worse than others and I had a bad day at the beginning of the week. I would like to thank Aly after reading her blog last night it made me stop and think about my own situations and evalute myself, so thanks Aly :)

I was so excited this morning after the postman delivered a special parcel.
This book!! Written by a dear friend of mine I have known for many many years. His 19th published book. He sent me an autographed copy.

Bah Humbug

I was really getting into the spirit of things and looking forward to christmas and the year ending and a new one starting. Today has been the worst day and if i started to write about it i'd prolly cry or not finish so im just going to vent it all out in dot form....

* Trashy mouthed kids

* Neighbours who need to practice what they preach

* Family members who are fake

* Friends that say they care but dont show it

* Businesses that are rude and inconsistent

* Liars

* Having no transport

* equipment that doesnt do what they say it will

Ugh did that make me feel better ? I don't know...
Heres hoping for a better tomorrow.

Finish of on something positive... Aussies won back the Ashes!!!!
Ricky and the Aussie boys you all ROCK!!!

Dont know what happened here with Dan's it had got alot darker and alot more people were jostling for position to get photos by this time, he was also stuck right on the end of the line, so sorry Dan your photo didnt turn out buddy.

Had to add this one in just so Josh didnt feel left out. Love this pic of him, he really isnt my baby anymore.

Updating..

Totally missed yesterday out, running around like a cut cat i was lol
So, my Big 40 day...
Got totally spoilt as i mentioned in last post, hubby and boys were amazing. Got taken out for dinner and got some beautiful gifts, spoke to all my family from Tassie, and just had the best relaxing day.
Thanks to L and C for the warm wishes, love you girls :)
Yesterday...wow what a day, running around madly trying to get as much shopping as i can get done before the boys finish school on Friday. Gettin photos developed, index cards printed and photos enlarged as well as trying to find appropriate frames.
And how hard is it to buy for a 13 yr old boy who 'doesnt really want anything' *sigh*
Got home exhausted, warm one again, had to get a quick early dinner and have Dan and Jay up at school for their christmas carols night. Each class sang 2-3 carols, it was awesome!
First time ive been up at the school in awhile (not cool for mum to walk them anymore) i spent the first half hour hopping around catching up with people i havent seen in ages.
The boys sang great, bopping along to traditional and some not so traditional carols, was a great night.
I finally finished writing out all my christmas cards! YAY!! Today i plan on wrapping all the gifts that need to be sent interstate and getting them ready to post of (yes rather lateish i know).
Tonight we plan on puttin up the christmas tree, always a fun experience with dad erecting the tree and doing lights, boys decorating and mum finishing of with the Angel on the top of the tree.
Should have some photos tomorrow of th boys carols night and the tree going up.

Wow, how long is this post, I do ramble on dont I lol, till tomorrow..

Cheers

A little bit of christmas

The boys have been talking with their dad about what christmas was like for nanna and pop.

In Holland, Sinterklaas (or Santa Clause) arrives by ship with gifts for the children. Those who have been good will receive chocolate and other gifts in their shoes, while those who have been bad get coal or sticks instead.

Found this site its cute and good for some fun time wasting.

Random stuff

Not really anything to post about so im just going to ramble with bits and pieces that have been in my mind...

School bus drivers are not god nor are they the law.

An email to say thanks or even just Hi, brightens your day :)

Crowded shopping centres can be handled much easier if the crowds are not rude and arrogant.

Gettin a NICE picture of all 3 boys together is a near impossibility (even with bribes).

Friendship is a two way street.

Just because im 20 yrs old than someone or the opposite sex doesnt make them a better sportsperson.

My boys as much as they fight and argue really do love each other.

Cheers

Our Weekend

Wasn't quite the weekend i would of planned. I woke up Friday morning with a cold, which got progressively worse throughout the day and by Saturday was enough to have me miserable and hardly able to move.
The couple next door had their surprise wedding, Shell looked absolutely gorgeous. Congrats Iv & Shell.
We went to my nephews farewell, went really well, he lives tomorrow :(
Sunday amazingly i was alot better, not totally but well enough to at least do things.
Finally decided on photos for our christmas cards just need to get them printed now.
My baby fell of his bike and hit his head, landed on his chin and bit thru his lip :( quick (amazingly) trip to emergency and they said he didnt need stitches, were a little concerned that he hit his head, that with him being weaned from his Epilepsy meds was a worry. He came home with a very saw face, swollen lots of grazes (yes i took pics ), he cant talk properly or eat poor darlin, but his spirits are up, he was joking with his dad later that night about the way he was talking lol
I was a softy today and kept him home from school, he had a head injury I have to watch him..right ? Good :)
Got my nephew and SIL comming to visit tonight, he swam at the Aust championships Saturday, was dissappoint that he swam under his PB. He swims again Thursday. Boys are really looking forward to seeing him again, its been over a year.
Im of now to create some Christmas goodies, chat soon.

1st day of summer

The beginning of summer, the beginning of the christmas/party season. That just leaves 24 shopping days till christmas!! OMG thats scary I havent got anywhere near enough done for it to be this close.
Just got over my nephews 1st birthday, and have my 40th in a cple weeks!
We have had some really weird weather here of late, scorching hot days, winds like you wouldnt believe and the sky looking like a desert storm. Looks like we are in for a pretty warm summer, not just here but all over Aussie. Dont forget to 'slip slop slap' everyone :)
Thought I'd share some work i've done over the last week..

Am working on christmas cards at the moment, will post them once i get them finished.
Got a full on weekend ahead, a farewell party for my nephew who is moving to Darwin to live for awhile, and another nephew is up here from Victoria taking part in the national swimming championships being held at Chandler this weekend!! Go Trev!!
