Earthy Crochet Doilies

Some may still think a doiley is something their grandmother had scattered around the house, but with modern cottons and colours and some simple patterns I believe they still can look good in any home.
I found one ball of Lana Grossa Allegro cotton whilst thrifting and the gorgeous earthy colours had me wanting it without really knowing what I would use it for. It sat at home for ages before I decided to make some doilies.
There was enough for two doilies so I'm keeping one for me, whilst the other will soon be heading to a new home.

Do you think doilies still have a place in our homes or are they just too old fashioned?
