Handmade gifts - crochet baskets

Last year I made a few of these crochet baskets as gifts, you can see the post here. You can fill them up with crochet washers and soaps or shower gels or nail care items.There are so many things you can add to the baskets, they look really nice sitting on your bathroom vanity or even on your bedroom dresser filled with bits and pieces.

This year a friend asked me would I make her up a couple that she could use as gifts for her friends. They are not that complicated to make, just using 8ply cotton and start with a circle HDC until you have the size you want for the bottom. Crochet into the back of the HDC and it forms the sides then just continue to crochet in the round until you have the right size. I made some little handles by missing stitches and chaining but you could leave these out if you wanted.

I may even have time to make a couple up for myself this year.
