A month already gone

Oh wow, the end of January, it just seems like last week we were getting over christmas and the new year and now school is already back and footy season starts next week. I hope that the rest of the year doesnt go as quickly.
The boys all got of to school great, with Jay starting his final year at primary school and loving being a senior. He is already asking to help out in all areas of the school, he loves his teachers and came home the second day saying "Maths was fun" i so hope this continues lol.
The older two, well you dont get too much out of them anymore, but they both seem happy enough.

I was tagged by the gorgeous melanie, a tag with a difference....

You just go to the place on your computer where you store your photos, then to the sixth folder, then to the sixth photo. Take that photo, put it on your blog and tell it's story!

I worked out I really need to sort out my photos a lot more, but anywho....
this was the 6th photo, one of Josh, he had asked for some photos for his facebook page and this was one of the "not so mucking around" ones we got lol
This was only in June last year, but i noticed he has changed heaps since then.

Im going to pass this tag along to......
Tam
Kayla
Maxine
Bec
Cass
Lu

Australia Day weekend

Happy Australia Day

We didnt plan anything or go anywhere but had a really good weekend at home.
There was the backyard game of cricket complete with bruises and lots of laughter.

Wishing we were at Coolongatta watching this....

Cheering an adopted Aussie on.....

and willing (to no avail) our Aussie boys to victory....

and then it rained....now rather than hide away inside we made a little water slide. (didnt break any water restrictions either hehe)

The boys had so much fun on this and were disappointed when the rain stopped.

Inbetween all this Aussie goodness i managed to create these two Aussie themed ATC's for a mini challenge at Inkurable.

Hope you all had a fantastic Australia day weekend!!

Jay goes back to school tomorrow, but I still have one more day at home for the older two, bring on Wednesday lol

Cheers Lis :)

Holidays are almost over

Wow its been a week since I posted, thats so not like me. It has been really really hot and humid here the last week and my computer/scrap room is the hottest in the house so I havent been spending alot of time in here, add cricket, the Australian open and getting things ready for the boys to head back to school and there hasnt been much time for creating or computering....

Jay starts his last year of primary school on Tuesday (omg his last year!) and the older two start Wednesday, Dan into year 9 and Josh year 11. I have all the books brought and covered (well for Jay-highschool boys dont have contact lol)named and uniforms brought and ready to go, hanging out for D day lol.

Friday Jayden attended a clinic with the Brisbane Lions, it was supposed to be hands on but with the rain and duty of care with a muddy ground (not to mention potential injury to Lions players) they did a question and answer with some fun inside. Turned out great, there were 9 players all up with some of the more 'famous' ones there too. Got lots of photos but the lighting in the clubhouse is shocking so the quality isnt all that good, here are a couple of the better ones.

Jayden with Aaron Cornelius ( a rookie player who came from Glenorchy in Tassie where we used to live)

Jay with Daniel Merrett

The boys have been having lots of fun over the holidays (especially since the tennis started) making up there own little tennis court and having there very own "Backyard Open" hehe

Two layouts i did manage to get done this week, this first one for Mystical Colour challenge.

and this one for Stuck sketch #70.

The lovely Nina gave me this award....

"This is called The Proximity Award. "These blogs believe and invest in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their awards".

Thank you so much Nina :) sorry its taken me so long to put it up.

Im supposed to name 8 more lovely people to get this award....
There is no way that I could name just 8 that just wouldnt be fair. I have met so many wonderful people through the bloggin world and have become very good friends with alot of them.
I am going to award this to everyone who comes by and reads my blog, you are all wonderful and Im so blessed to have met you :)

Stay tuned for some more Buzz and Bloom sneek peeks in the next few days and dont forget to check out the blog regulary for lots of fantastic inspiration from the team.

Mega creative spurt

Its almost the end of the school holidays - just one more week to go, and I must say the boys have been great. That may have alot to do with the fact that there has been work for Josh, sleepovers and lots of bike riding and Wii playing as well as a makeshift tennis court set up in the back yard lol
All this has meant that mum has been free to do lots of creating...and I have.
I have been in the mood for painting and mixed media things lately and have even gotten back into my art journaling.

So here is what i've been up to.....

Art journal - This year for the 52Q with Emily.

Art journal - Action with A year in the life.

OLW - Embrace.

Aussie Roadmaps.

Category Stories. I remember.

White with 1.

Inspired Blueprints.

Inkurable Stampers - Jigsaw pieces.

Wow now that really does seem like a huge amount of work...it has been over 3 weeks though not all this week.
Hope that those on holidays are enjoying it and that everyones year has been great so far.
I have been tagged but will be back to do that later.

Cheers Lis :)

Back to normality

The festivie season is over and its back to the normal daily routines, well almost. There is still 3 weeks left before the kids go back to school. John went back to work today after having 3 weeks of, he so didnt want to get up at 5.30 this morning...
What is it about this time of year that has me in an organising mood, perhaps the fact that after taking down the tree and decorations we had to rearrange the lounge back to useable again, that spurred me on to clean and sort....the boys clothes and toys, the games and dvds, my dressing table (omg when did it become a dumping ground for everything) and ive started the hall cupboard and next i want to do under my bed (lots of icky things hiding there im sure)....
Now keep in mind that whilst im doing all this cleaning and sorting Mr weatherman hasnt been very nice throwing in high 30 degree heat and lots of humidity...am I mad...probably lol

This is a layout that i got done just before christmas for the December sketch challenge at KSK. Fantastic sketch by Kim Allard.

I did my first layout for the year today...took me forever lol, cant share as yet though.

Hope that everyone had a fantastic start too the new year.

Cheers Lis :)
