Thrifty treasures

Reading through the various blogs I follow I quite often see posts about thrifty and vintage treasures found at local stores and think why dont my stores have stuff like that!
I must admit though I have found some amazing little (and big) bits and pieces in my thrifty shopping, some thats immediately put to use and others that just had to come home with me and will eventually be given a place or used.
I havent shared any thrifty finds since the 2nd week of December mainly because the silly season happened and I didnt have the time to op shop and also because when I did have a few spare moments there just wasnt anything that screamed take me home!
Since the start of the year though I have managed to pick up a few little treasures that I want to share with you.
First up I found a vintage milk bottle and a glass container for making dressings, its has measurements on it and even has recipes for different dressing, they were both marked at $1 each but I got them both for $1, bargain!

This beautiful leather journal caught my eye and I scooped it up and just had to have it before I even looked inside. The detail on it doesnt show up very well in photos but its beautiful.
The inside is actually a diary, but has some sweet illustrations, im sure this will be used as an art journal of some sort.
Next up were these two pillows, the striped one is very large and after removing the cover and soaking and washing it, and doing some repair work to the liner, its been awesome for teen boy lounging on the floor in the living room. The other one a striped on one side with solid black textured fabric on the reverse is perfect for the sofa bed in my craft room.

Last up are a few odds and sods, a doiley to add to my collection, a paint brush that I aim to alter and a sweet tiny dream catcher kit.

All up I think I did very well with my purchases!

Thanks for stopping by
Lis :)
