Week in review

Havent had much of an update of whats going on lately, so thought it was about time I did. We lost our netball grandfinal last Sunday...oh well.... maybe not playing anymore either, all our guys have dropped out with other committments, that makes me sad, I love playing.
Footy training has started for the older two boys and so far so good with coaches, Jay starts this week.
For the last 2 weekends John has been doing the Level 2 Sports Medicine course, so he has been flat out studying every spare moment at home, as well as not being here weekends, goodluck honey, you will rock it!
Nothing else really exciting happening on the homefront, did get some scrapping done this week, this is what i managed.

Challenge me

I love challenges and recently found a new challenge site while blog surfing. Its the sister site of One Little Word..
One Little Aussie Word has started up and their first word is Begin.
I wasnt sure that i wanted to take on another challenge site, but after a little thought decided to do it, but a little differently. I am going to art journal each word rather than do a layout.
I found an old book, and will be using that for my art journal, here is my page for the word Begin.

My layout for Use your stash challenge blog - use ribbon.

and lastly for Out of the hat challenge - red, purple, paint and metal.

Devestation and true Aussie spirit

February 7th 2009 is being called Australias darkest hour. It is just so devestating, the bushfires in Victoria and NSW, all the loss of lives and property. It is unbelieveably heartbreaking and my heart goes out to all those that have lost loved ones, have been injured or have lost everything they own.
I am extremley grateful that all family and friends in Victoria are safe.
If you would like to help out by donating to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009
then follow the link to the Red Cross appeal site, they have raised well over 13 million so far.

Whilst the southern parts of Australia are suffering with devestating fires, its the opposite at the other end. In far north Queensland they have been struggling with floods ALMOST three weeks after flooding began, north Queensland remains in chaos, with towns isolated, emergency services swamped and the Bruce Highway cut.Donations to flood victims can be made to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal Fund at any of the big banks, including the Commonwealth, Westpac, NAB, ANZ, Suncorp Metway and the Bank of Queensland.

On a lighter note a bit of creating done this past week.

Recently found this challenge site,Tag You're It its all about tags, and this is my tag for challenge #44 using the sketch provided.

This is my layout for the Ad This challenge this week.

Living

The word this week over at OLW is Living....
Had a bit of play with paints for this one, something a little different.

The journaling/title reads.....

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.

Well footy season started last night, well at least Dan's training, I was told a month ago that Josh would be starting then too, with Jay starting in 2 weeks....so all prepared, dinner cooked and ready at home, boys prepared to stay later while mum and dad attended committee meeting...
Get to club to find out that Josh's coach had decided not to start until next week....
I wasnt happy...a simple phone call would of made things alot easier for me, ( I could of left josh and jay at home, and had Dan dropped off after training), but know obviously a phone call is just too hard...really hope this is not a sign of the year to come...
So the boys hung out, until finally at 8pm I left the meeting and took them home, wasnt waiting any longer.

sorry vent over....

Have a great day

Cheers Lis :)
