creative overload

Australia - the movie was fantastic!!
We arrived at the theatre and got the whole red carpet treatment complete with paparazzi snapping pictures, drinks in the foyer and then into the theatre for the movie and dinner packs (ok a bit tacky but we got to eat).
The movie was amazing I would certainly reccommend seeing it!!

A big lot of layouts that I have done over the last 6 or 7 days.

OLW - Energy

Every year the boys get given a calender with all these tips for energy conservation and making the world a better place. I always wanted to do something with them and this was the perfect chance.

Sea World Nara Resort

Well our weekend away was just amazing, we had so much fun and really didnt want to come home.
We arrived at the resort and checked in, rooms werent ready yet, but we expeced that so headed for the pool where we spent the next few hours swimming, lazing in the sun, drinking cocktails and catching up with everyone as they arrived.
I hadnt seen some of them for awhile so it was nice to sit and catch up.
We checked into our room, they werent huge or over the top but very comfortable. Headed back down to the pool (yep alot of time spent there) until it was time to get ready for dinner.
Seafood feast buffet style, yummmo!
Dinner was a nosiy fun experience with 24 adults and 6 kids what can u expect, we sat around the tables having a few drinks and chatting, the boys explored the hotel - with the camera (some interesting shots lol)
We got the younger ones back up to the room and into bed whilst Josh went back down to the pool to hang out for a bit (think the young girls had something to do with that lol)
We turned in early as a big day was planned for tomorrow.
Up bright and early and dressed and down for breakfast, the boys loved the fact they got to eat a mixture of different things.
The boys swam for a bit before we packed up and checked out then made our way over to Sea world. We let the older two go of on their own (they spent the entire time at the water park) and John and I took of with Jay.
We all met back up for lunch with the rest of the crew from John's work then took of again exploring and going on rides (ok well the boys did the rides).
John was a little disappointed, we had planned to pay for him to swim with the sharks, but when we rang to book they informed us they dont do it on Sundays :( he had to make do with checking them out via the underwater viewing area, he took so many photos.
We were about to head of to the water park and just sit and relax it had been so hot all day, when the skies turned black and lightning started, the park started to close up, so we found the boys and decided to leave. We made it back to the car just as the rain started.
Here is a bit of a look at some of the photos we got of the weekend.

All up it was a fantastic weekend and big thanks have to go to David and the staff at CNW for organising such an awesome outing.
I am really amazed and grateful that Johns branch organise such a fantastic christmas function every year for staff and their families for free, we are so lucky.
So huge thanks to David and the branch staff!!

The rain finally stopped!

Wow what a week, the biggest storm ive seen since we have been in Brisbane, man it was Huge. We were lucky enough not to sustain any damage thank god. We were at Sea World on the Gold Coast when it started and just made it to the car before the rain thundered down. The trip home wasnt pleasant, it was sticky hot and the traffic was so bad that it took 2 and a half hours to drive the 40km home.
It rained and rained all week, getting washing dry was near impossible, but today finally the sun came out again and it was quite warm again. Hopefully we will have some nicer weather for the rest of the week, although the skies outside dont look too hopeful.

Thank you to all of you who left me comments, or sent messages thanking me for the DT position, it means alot :)

I have been working on christmas presents this week and have done some sewwing and was doing great until my machine decided that it didnt want to work anymore, hopefully hubby can fix it for me.

Here are a few layouts that I have got done this week.

This one for Use your stash challenge.

Have you heard

The 2009 Buzz and Bloom DT have been announced...

Im on it!!!!
I was so excited when I found out, thrilled beyond belief that they would want me, so excited to be working with such fantastic products and a gorgeous group of such talented girls!!
Check them all out for yourself, so very inspiring, find links for them all on the right.

Thank you so much Helene and Devorah :)

In other news.....

Our trip away was just the best weekend i've had in ages, will share more about that and photos later in the week.

Aga tagged me also, I have to list 6 facts about me...

1. I am anal about organisation, everything has a place and must be in it.
2. I have a shoe fetish and currently own over 30 pairs.
3. Crocheting was always something that alluded me, but I just taught myself how to do granny squares!
4. I am not overly fond of chocolate, not much of a sweet tooth at all.
5. Even though my favourite colour is purple, I only own one purple piece of clothing.
6. I have this knack for remembering post codes, I can pretty much tell you every single post code in Tassie. ( I think it goes back to my days of working a mail room)

Im supposed to tag others now...im going to be lazy and just tag anyone who reads this and wants to play along.

Have a great day :)

Cheers Lis

Lots to share...

A few months ago I did a guest spot for Scrapware and I shared with you the layouts that I did for them. I also did some christmas things that I havent been able to share until now. Let me tell you that these products were so much fun to work with, you should get some because they are just fantastic!

This is the HoHo album they sent me, I have all my christmas photos done into mini albums for each year so this was perfect for the photos from a few years ago that I hadnt scrapped yet. The little balls, candy canes, stockings and trees are also from Scrapware.

They also sent me these chipboard baubles, wow loved these, so much fun to play with and cant wait to hang them on the tree. They have a circle cut out in the middle where I put a photo of each of the boys. You could also leave this blank.

This weeks ad at Ad This was so cool and this is the layout that I did for it.

and lastly....
This is where I am of to in the morning for the weekend!!
DH's wonderful branch are having their christmas function here as a team AND are paying for it!!!
Plan on totally relaxing and doing nothing but having some fun!!

Have a great weekend whatever you may be doing :)

Listen

At 13 his hearing seems to be selective, a teenage trait ? He hears some things we dont want him to hear, and all the unimportant things, but then when its something we need him to hear his hearing suddenly is gone.....

When I saw what the word for OLW was this week I knew exactly how I was going to scrap it, Dan drives us crazy at the moment with his hearing to the point we had him tested...yup perfect hearing...

So anyway this is my layout.

Boardies Day

Boardies Day for Surf Life Saving Foundation

For more than ten years the Surf Life Saving Foundation has been committed to providing funding to Surf Life Saving Clubs around Australia to purchase vital
rescue equipment, train and develop future lifesavers and deliver education programs.

The Foundation strives to provide opportunities for the general community to take part in and contribute towards a true Australian tradition – Lifesaving. Together we have been able to achieve so much ensuring our patrolling lifesavers have the equipment, resources and training they need to keep our beaches safe.

Please lend your support to help us ensure that our beaches remain the safest in the world and that the proud Aussie tradition of Surf Life Saving can continue.

This is such a great cause and I am proud to help out as are John's work with their own fundraising event for this day.
If you would like to help them out then please visit the fundraising site HERE and donate.

So I wrote out all the names, thanks girls for all your birthday wishes :) put them in a hat and got hubby to draw one out, I didnt manage to get photos (sorry about that) as the camera has been playing up.
Enough ramble the winner is...........

SHANDELL!!!!

Congrats hon, email me at skippiechick@hotmail.com with your addy and I will get the package out to you.

In other news...
I decided to clean out my wardrobe during the week, switch the winter clothes for summer clothes...I now have a rather reduced wardrobe and a rather large bag of clothes to pass on to a friend...
So many of last years summer things just dont fit anymore it was depressing :( but has promted me to get back into my sport and exercise routine and try and get back to the size i used to be. Not an easy task as we head into the season of eating and drinking lol

A couple of layouts done this week..

This one for Stuck sketches, sketch #62

This one I did just for fun, the story of my friendship with Sandra.

Hope that everyone had a great weekend!
